On Friday last week Year 5 visited Harry Potter Studios, all the staff and children who attended had a fantastic day. The children spent some time learning about how sound is made in films. The children also really enjoyed the tour of the Harry Potter Studios.

The Euros have already started at Tilery! Our KS2 children had a great time representing the different countries. Sadly England didn't make it to the final - it will be Belgium or Italy who lift the trophy.  

Year 5 and Year 6 attended Middlesbrough Sports Village for an athletics event yesterday. The children thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Our year 5 and year 6 children are having a great time at York Castle Museum today. We can’t wait to hear all about it when they get back

Some of the Year 6 children were marking Mrs Rodgers' Maths paper today. She is certain she would get 100%. The children used their excellent Maths skills and found lots of mistakes. Oops!

Well done to all of our pupils for taking part in the Biggest Ever Football Session in school today. The children enjoyed taking part in lots of football related activies and learning different things through a football theme.

Children in FS2 had a special visit from the zoo lab. We took part in the ‘We’re going on a animal hunt story telling session’. The children met and held lots of amazing animals during the session.  

Year 2 have been History Detectives and have been answering questions about evidence they have seen about kings, Queens and Castles. They are looking forward to learning more about this topic.

FS2 have enjoyed making porridge this afternoon as part of our literacy and science for this half term. We have been learning about what makes porridge delicious whilst learning about goldilocks and the three bears.

Year 3 have been practicing their Netball skills in P.E. We have learnt how to throw a chest pass, bounce pass and even practiced our shooting skills.

Our nursery children have been reading Room on the Broom this week and have enjoyed doing lots of different activities linked to the book.

This week our 3 year olds have been using the talking balloon to tell their nursery friends what they have been doing at the weekend, as part of our communication and language development.

Our children in FS2 have thoroughly enjoyed their time playing out in the snow today.  

Our Year 2 pupils have enjoyed learning about the Great Fire of London.

Year 5/6 have been making robots. We planned our robots, in groups, we learned how to turn boxes inside out and then we made our robots. We weren’t sure if they would work at first but they turned out really well and we are so proud of our work.

Y5/6 are having a wonderful time celebrating Christmas. So far we’ve made Christingles to take to the Parish Church, made Christmas hats and enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner in a beautifully decorated hall. Let the celebrations continue.

Y5/6 are having such good fun at their Christmas party: dancing, playing games, being silly and eating. Brilliant!

Our children enjoyed their christmas dinner on Wednesday. A huge thank you to the catering staff for the wonderful food they made, expecially the christmas cakes. The children thoroughly enjoyed them.

Y2 have enjoyed using practical apparatus to learn about fact families in addition and subtraction.

In FS1 this week, we have enjoyed exploring our Winter themed tray. We found lots of animals that live in cold climates.

This week in FS2 we have investigated the composition of 5 and enjoyed practising our letter formation in the writing area.  

As part of our work on Waste, we hosted our first Big Christmas Jumper Swap on Tuesday 28th November and lots of children went home with a new Christmas jumper. We were really proud of "saving" all these Christmas jumpers. We have also been busy making posters, also...

Our children had a great time supporting Children in Need on Friday 17th November.  Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated towards a fantastic cause.  Together we raised £139.25

Y5 and Y6 have been busy learning all about WW2 this term. On Inspiration for Aspiration day Y5 learnt all about Armistice day and Remembrance Sunday. This inspired us to make our own Poppies and wear them with pride!

On Friday 10th November, we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Mayor of Stockton who talked about their background and the details of their jobs.

On Friday 10th November, we celebrated our Inspiration for Aspiration Day.  Children were invited to come into school dressed as who or what they inspire to be when they are older.

Children are invited to come to school wearing od socks on Monday 13th November - this is association with Anbti-Bullying week.

This week we have introduced Y5 to their new science topic- Animals including Humans! We have started them off by looking at the human anatomy,  finding out about our body parts including where in the body we would find our lungs and hearts!

Our children in Reception enjoyed their visit from Cleveland Fire Brigade UK. Children learned about fire safety and what fire people do to help us and keep us safe.

Our year 5/6 boys said that they really enjoyed using the place value counters, in maths and that it helped them to understand column subtraction.  

Year 2 visited the Tees Barrage as part of their Natural Habitat topic.  they were lucky enough to spot a seal.

In science Year 3 have been using thermometers to measure the temperature of different things including the playground outside, the inside room temperature  and the temperature of a cup of water from the fridge

Year 3 have been making Roman food. We have made Honey toast which the Romans ate for a desert
